Fake Bank Login Alerts

Your account has been temporarily locked

Scammers send emails that look like they come from your bank, claiming unusual activity on your account. The link leads to a fake login page designed to steal your credentials.

What to Watch For

  • Sender address does not match your bank's official domain
  • Urgent language threatening to lock your account
  • Link destination differs from the displayed text
  • Generic greeting ("Dear Customer") instead of your name

Examples

""Dear Customer, unusual login activity detected on your account. Click here to verify within 24 hours or your access will be suspended.""

Why it works: Combines urgency ("24 hours") with fear ("suspended") — emotions that make you click before thinking.

What to Do

Do not click any links in the email. Open your bank's app directly or type their official website address into your browser. If there really is a problem, it will show up when you log in normally.
