Spoofed Tech Support Calls

Your number was flagged for a security alert

Incoming calls that appear to be from Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, or your bank (the caller ID is faked). The caller claims your account has been compromised, your device has malware, or a suspicious purchase was made, and they need remote access to "fix" the problem.

What to Watch For

  • Legitimate companies never call unsolicited offering tech support
  • Caller asks you to download remote access software (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, etc.)
  • Caller ID shows a real company number (it's been spoofed)
  • Claims there's a pending charge or security issue that needs immediate resolution

Examples

""Hello, this is Apple Support. We've detected unusual activity on your Apple ID. To secure your account, please download AnyDesk so we can help you reset your password.""

Why it works: The caller ID shows a legitimate Apple number (spoofed). People trust brands and want to protect their accounts, making the request for remote access seem helpful.

What to Do

Hang up immediately. Apple, Microsoft, and other legitimate companies never call you unsolicited about account issues. Never give anyone remote access to your computer. If concerned, contact the company directly through their official website.
